Company History

Dunamis Karate started in January 2001, as an outreach ministry of Low Country Reformation Ministries.  We started out holding classes only one day a week, but as demand increased, we expanded to two days a week.

We quickly began to run out of space at LCRM so in June of 2003, moved into a larger commercial location.

In 2005, after a couple of moves, we came back to purchase the original building where LCRM had been located.

In 2007, we had the honor of hosting the Regional Chuck Norris System Black Belt test, so the school underwent a major paint job and some decorative trim was added.

In 2010, we expanded our hours to four days a week.

In 2011, we purchased a new floor with double the padding of the old puzzle mats we had been using.  The students rave about how much more comfortable it is for standing, walking, jumping, falling & rolling.

In 2011, we also purchase the license for Hyper Pro Training in order to add another level of training for students wishing to work plyometric drills, extreme forms and weapons, tumbling and martial arts tricking.

In 2016 we started teaching in a 2nd location.  Lighthouse Church in Hampton, SC agreed to let us use their social hall for martial arts classes and we started with about 25 students, ages 3 to adult.

In 2017 we added the UFAF Krav Maga Force program specifically for the adults and teens.  The KMF program delivers realistic self-defense techniques that are easy to learn yet highly effective.  It also gives a great overall fitness workout while teaching survival skills.

In 2019 we moved the Hampton school into a commercial location eventually expanding the hours there to 4 days per week.

In 2023 we remodeled the Ridgeland location adding a 2nd restroom, 2 dressing rooms, and better storage.  We also upgraded the parent viewing area with recessed lighting and a parent coffee station.
