Congratulations to Alex Gardner for winning the Chun Kuk Do Jr. Grand Champion for 2010!!  Alex beat out 10 other competitors, including Andi Woods, to bring home the Jr. Norris Cup!  Way to go Alex!!

FREE Make Up Classes – We will hold 2 make up classes this month, Friday, August 6^th and Friday, August 20^th.  The classes will be 1 ½ hours each.  All ranks are invited to attend and students may come and leave as they need because attendance is voluntary!

KARATE TOURNAMENT – Black Belts for Christ will host a tournament in Anderson, SC on Saturday, August 14^th.  Students must register online by JULY 31^st!!  www.blackbeltsforchrist.com

BELT TESTING – August 23 & 24^th we will once again have belt testing.  Students will be evaluated on their progress and awarded new belts accordingly. 

Belt Graduation will be held on Friday, August 27^th at 5:30pm. 

Prior to testing, there are several rules all students need to know:

All students above testing for Gold or higher need to have patches in place – Dunamis patch on right shoulder and Flag patch on left shoulder.  Stop by the pro-shop to purchase your patches before testing!

All students testing in the intermediate class and above before being allowed to test need to have active UFAF membership.  Not sure what this means … Stop by the pro-shop and get clarification and a UFAF membership application.

All students need to turn in the pre-promotion form and the belt test fee: $15 for beginners, $20 for intermediates, $25 for Advanced, $50 for Jr. Black Belt, $75 for CKD Black Belt pre-test.

Referral Contest – Starting at the end of August and running through September, we will have a referral contest.  Students who refer friends to try a class at Dunamis Karate will be given 5 tickets to enter into the drawing.  If the friends sign up for one of our programs, the student will be given 10 tickets for the drawing.  The winning ticket will be drawn on September 30^th and receive a $100 gift certificate to use in our pro-shop on anything from tuition, to sparring gear, weapons or private lessons.

We will be closed Monday, September 6^th in recognition of Labor Day.

Starting Tuesday September 7^th, we will return to our normal class schedule.
