Chun Kuk Do International Training Conference & World Championship
Mrs. Woods and three of our students, Andi Woods, Mackenzie Cooler & Madison Cooler, traveled to Las Vegas, NV for the annual Chun Kuk Do International Training Conference and World Championship, July 16-21, 2008.
Mrs. Woods completed the next session of classes required for promotion to 5th degree, the "Teacher, Trainer, Coach 502 Course." After a day and a half of training, she took the 502 exam and passed with 97%! She also participated in continued instructor training under National Training Director, Ed Saenz and martial arts business classes directed by Steve Hammersley.
The students participated in 2 days of seminars allowing them to train in weapons, sparring, self defense and karate tricks. In addition, there were 2 days of competition.
Madison Cooler (age 9) competed in the Red Belt division and won 4th place in forms and 2nd place in sparring.
Mackenzie Cooler (age 12) competed in the Black Belt division and won 5th in Weapons, 4th in forms and 2nd in sparring.
Andi Woods (age 10) competed in the Black Belt division and won 3rd place in weapons, 2nd place in sparring and 1st place in forms.
Winning 1st place entitled Andi to compete for Jr. Grand Champion against all other 17 & under Black Belt winners in forms & weapons divisions. In all, there were 10 competitiors going for Grand Champion and Andi came away as the winner.
Chuck Norris, founder of Chun Kuk Do, presented Andi with the Norris Cup.
